Michael Lavocah
Musical seminars- Musical Secrets
with the author of several books about Tango Orchestras
Michael Lavocah is a true tango music enthusiast and expert, effortlessly drawing listeners into the fascinating world of orchestras and melodies from the Golden Age of tango. His book, Tango Stories: Musical Secrets, is a must-read for every tango lover—filled with intriguing stories and musical discoveries, already translated into six languages. Currently, he is working on the Tango Masters series, dedicated to legendary conductors and orchestrators. His lectures and seminars are not just a wealth of knowledge but, above all, an inspiring journey into the very heart of tango music—a journey that ignites passion in both dancers and music lovers around the world.
Once again, he will be joining Quiero Verte, taking you on another musical journey full of rhythm, emotion, and the mysteries of great orchestras. He has prepared three exceptional seminars:
How to listen to Tango Music?
- Upgrade your ears! Simply essential, the most important lecture Michael gives. In tango we often focus on dancing skills but just as important are the listening skills which go with them. As dancers we respond differently to different layers within the music, and in this presentation you’ll learn to identify and listen to them. Many tangueros have reported that this lecture changed the way they danced – without taking a step.
Carlos Di Sarli: The Man and His Music
Carlos Di Sarli created the most elegant music that tango has ever known. The music sounds simple and has an incredibly broad appeal but listen closely and it starts to become mysterious. The bandoneons are largely inaudible, being totally dominated by the strings, but it is the unique and powerful piano playing of Di Sarli himself which propels the music forwards. Di Sarli kept his exceptional style a closely guarded secret, refusing even to let other musicians watch him play - but you’ll learn his secrets in this presentation.
Ricardo Tanturi: The Master od RhythmT
anturi kept his music simple with strong beats and clear melodies but he was by no means an imitator of D’Arienzo. The orchestra had a low profile until the incorporation of the flamboyant Alberto Castillo as their vocalist created a sensation. Castillo quit at the height of their success, but the milongueros say that his replacement was even better for dancing. This is a new presentation, created especially for the Quiero Verte festival.

🍷 Wine Tasting with Tornike
Unwind and connect over a curated selection of wines, handpicked by Tornike—Krakow’s beloved Hungarian wine expert and owner of a local vinoteka. He’ll guide you through 4–5 unique wines from Poland and the Moravian region, sharing stories, flavors, and fun facts along the way. No tango shoes needed—just bring your curiosity and a desire to mingle.
